DAY 23—As the ministries remain in close communion with the risen Lord, they will lead others toward becoming the embodiment of Truth.

 

The next verse in the Ephesians 4:11-16 passage calls for some amazing understanding to be brought in us by the Holy Spirit and by a close examination of the Word. See this in verse 15:

• But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things,
  which is the Head, even Christ...

The term speaking the truth is from the Greek Verb aletheu’o. This carries more meaning than simply “speaking” truth. It is closer to meaning “being” the truth. It presents the idea that what they are becomes a demonstration of what is true. This filters down upon us from the Lord Himself, through ministers in the Body of Christ.We take close note that this demonstration of truth comes in close connection with love—agápe love. Selfless giving of one’s self for the benefit of others insures that we grow up into Christ. It will become manifest in all that we say or do—from buying something in the market to pulling a stranger from the ditch. Jesus taught about this in the parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37.

FATHER, give me a tender heart of love toward those in the world who don’t know You in a personal way. Give me the ability to love others, and to put others before myself. Give me a heart that can see the pain and difficulty others are facing. Then give me the wisdom and anointing to minister Your love to them. Let our fellowship with You be such that anyone in trouble can discover Your love and Your truth through us.
